About The Flavor
At Coop, we have a fundamental belief that our four unique sparkling tea beverages, that were designed to invigorate and enhance mental well-being, go way beyond just delicious drinks and function.
To us they are a storytelling device that help us share my learning difference experience and my love of good flavor in the hopes that it inspires people. Our delicious raspberry lemon green tea, Dump the Slump, is no exception!
To really understand the story behind Dump The Slump, I need to transport you to the beautiful snow capped Alps mountain range of Austria. It was on the ski slopes of these mountains where the seed to make a raspberry lemon beverage was planted.
For as long as I can remember, my family has been quenching their thirst with this delicious raspberry lemon drink called Schiwasser, which literally translates to “ski water”. My mom even has a pitcher full of it in our refrigerator at all times while skiing in Austria and it was one of two beverage options at the ski school lunch growing up. People absolutely love it! It is made with a thick juicy raspberry syrup and still or sparkling spring mountain water. The mix of sweet and sour flavors make it the perfect thirst quencher after a long day of skiing or hiking.
Now that we have discussed the origin of the flavor, let's talk about my drink wizardry and flavor flow.
Drinks Wizardry
Ever since I was a little kid, I have loved beverages for some reason. I like to joke that I am sort of a beverage savant. Drinks always made sense to me even though I did not know if I would make it in school. This helped me dial in my flavor flow and all the years of research and development gave me a skill to come up with unique flavors. Then food scientists took that kitchen recipe and scaled up to be able to make in hundred to a thousand gallon batches. Now, we have Dump The Slump for you to purchase!
Now let me show off my drink wizard skills from the back of the can!
Dump The Slump is a bright, juicy raspberry and zesty lemon blend with fragrant green tea. I also added Coop Brain Boost with ashwagandha and angelica to quench your mind and lift your mood.
I used this delicious sweet and sour sipper, Schiwasser, as inspiration for our raspberry lemon flavor that also includes a nice dose of brewed green tea and our Coop brain boost, which includes a fun mix of eight different adaptogenic herbs and mushrooms. The 40 milligrams of caffeine from our green tea has also allowed us to position it as mid-day pick me up. We have, in effect, created a unique function with the teas and additional herbs on top of the brain boost. This flavor has now become a fan favorite and people seem to really like the flavor.

But there is much more that makes this flavor special. This is the Coop brand where there is a unique coopism anecdotal story behind each flavor of drink.
The coopism for this flavor is as follows:
“My classmates would tie their shoelaces with ease, but I had to wear velcro shoes because I couldn’t figure it out on my own. This made me feel like a complete failure. However, I would tell myself ‘DUMP THE SLUMP’ and learned how to tie my shoes with my own unique method.“.
This is a story (coopism) based on my frustration of struggling to tie my shoelaces and learning how to ride a bike. I vividly remember during gym class in fourth grade watching all of my classmates tie their shoelaces while I was wearing velcro shoes.
The fact that I had to wear shoes without laces made me feel self conscious. Biking has never come easy to me. I remember once we went biking in Jackson Hole, Wyoming along the Snake River and crashing into the bushes. It was also very hard for me to keep controlling the bike.
However, over the years I have been able to learn how to tie my shoes with my own unique method and can somewhat ride a bike. I would not, however, seek out the sport.
My hope in sharing my experience through coopisms is that it shows people that learn differently and people in general that they can achieve their goals when the right guardrails and scaffolding is put into place.
